The Assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – The Truth Revealed

History informs us that James Earl Ray is the man who was charged and convicted in the killing of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ray confessed to the killing but days later recanted and said it was actually a larger conspiracy which many of us believed that led to the killing of Dr. King. The Washington Post printed an article (dated March 2, 1997) entitled The King Assassination Revisited: The $7,000 Question: Where Did Rey Get the Money. In summary, based on all of the stories and reports he did not have that kind of money. There was a massive man hunt led by the FBI from the Lorraine Motel after the shooting to California, Alabama, Canada, Portugal and finally to London’s Heathrow Airport where he was finally arrested on June 8, 1968 while attempting to board a plane for Brussels. Ask yourself why London and Portugal?

What do we need to know about the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? We do know that in the years after the assassination the government was destroying sensitive documents related to the case. The FBI was criticized because it would not release the records pertaining to the case. There was a judge, John Lewis Smith, who ruled that the files had to be sealed for 50 years. 50 years! Why should the records be sealed if they got the real killer? The documents are scheduled to be released in 2027. In that document it also talks about the MURKIN file – which means “murder King”.  It’s the official assassination investigation and information about COINTELPRO. If you don’t know about COINTELPRO please look that up because it actually talks about the covert and illegal actions conducted by this United States government against people like Dr. King.

We have the King holiday coming up soon and you can be sure that the little that your children will learn about Black history will be the story of Dr. King as a civil rights leader – they won’t go much beyond that. More than likely the textbooks will ignore this information that I’m sharing with you today. It’s time to tell them the rest of the story if they’re old enough to understand it. For far too long we’ve been quiet about the lies and the whitewashed history taught in the schools – we haven’t been challenging these things. Have your child bring you the textbook and find the story about Dr. King and then have a discussion about it because we want the real black history.
