We are going to talk about the Roman Catholic Doctrine that led to the founding of America and slavery. We are exposing this wicked Doctrine called the Doctrine of Discovery or you may know it as Manifest Destiny. This Doctrine of demons was used under the false pretense of winning the world for Christ. There is so much we need to know about this Discovery Doctrine because, unbelievably, this law is still being used today. If you ever wondered how Europeans justified their barbaric behaviors toward other nations – particularly those of people of color – you need to understand this Doctrine. It is the root of it all. Not only that, we want to identify the reason behind this Doctrine because it allowed so many European nations to create wealth through death and exploitation.
An article entitled, The Doctrine of Discovery and the Christian Conquest of the World written by Nick Gier, a professor at the University of Idaho, gives a really good summary of what this wicked Doctrine was all about. It was sanctioned by the Catholic Church by Pope Alexander VI at the request of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain. They wanted their explorers to go out and find land where European Christians were not living – even though they could see the land was already inhabited by non-European Christians. They would say the land was empty and could claim that land for the crown. The article states, “In 1455, Pope Nicholas V exhorted Catholic rulers to conquer, even those in the remotest parts unknown to us all who were enemies of Christ. The Pope gave them permission to invade, search out, capture, vanquish, and subdue all Saracens (which are Muslims) and pagans, take their possessions and reduce their persons to perpetual slavery. Although Pope Nicholas acknowledged that Native Americans were innocent, peace loving people, he neglected to mention that the new Chrisitan rulers had mistreated the natives in the most inhumane ways. Several priests disputed Spain’s right of possession and defended the Indians as full human persons. They also provided detailed accounts of acts of wanton brutality. Infants were disemboweled with pikes and their parents were hung upside down and burned alive. Numbers are about 50 million people living in the pre-Columbian Americas and up to 15 million killed by Europeans in all areas.” Now you think about that. The Native Americans are the ones they call savages. Who’s really the barbarian here? Who is the savage? They disemboweled babies and burned their parents alive because they wanted their land. The Pope basically gave them license to slaughter human beings, supposedly under the pretense of spreading the gospel.
Scripture proves that there are doctrines that came straight from the pit of hell and those who are following after these doctrines they are reprobates. They cannot feel the pain of what they’re inflicting on others that would prompt them to say, “You know what – this is wrong. To disembowel a child, does this sound like something Christ would have endorsed? Do we find any scriptural reference for winning the world for Christ this way”?
- 1 Timothy 4:1-2 says, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron…”
- 1 Timothy 6:10 says, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
Without a shadow of a doubt, this Doctrine that came from the Roman Catholic Church (and the church has still not repudiated it) is based on the love of money; covetousness. So, the way that we fight is with truth. Greed is what is at the root of all of this and the founding of this nation. The leaders wanted to build a nation on free labor. They did it by exploiting and killing people of color.
In another article entitled, The Doctrine of Discovery: The International Law of Colonialism written by Robert Miller says, “The Doctrine was developed primarily in the 15th century by Spain, Portugal, England, and the Church. The Doctrine is not just an interesting relic of world history but instead remains an applicable principle in many countries and also continues to limit the human, sovereign, commercial, and property rights of Indigenous Peoples and their governments. The Doctrine was used by European nations to justify their desires to acquire riches and empires around the world. The Doctrine of Discovery is the modern name for the International Law Principle that European nations developed and then used to claim most of the non-European world. The Doctrine was applied in North America by England, France, Spain, Holland, and Russia. The United States adopted this legal principle and applied it to the to the Indian Nations. The international law principle that Indigenous Peoples and Nations around the world did not and do not own the full title to their lands is still the law in most countries today.” Think about what happened in South Africa. Yet, they want to make us believe that the reason they were doing this was to spread the gospel, but we see that was a lie straight from the pit of hell. These wicked practices were used primarily on people of color. They use certain elements which are reflected in the laws, the treaties, the court cases, and policies.
So, this is a Doctrine that we all need to do our part in exposing because it’s a secret doctrine. Most people of color and most of the nations that this happened to have never heard of this Doctrine. But here’s the question that they’re asking (and it’s a valid question), “How much longer can modern-day societies and churches continue to tolerate the kind of ignorance and non-Christian principles of death, domination, prejudice, inequity, and violation of sovereign and human rights that the Doctrine of Discovery represents’? It’s important to note that they have tried to go to the Vatican to have this repealed and it has not happened yet – imagine that. The reason religious leaders continue to tolerate wickedness like this is based on the scripture in Jeremiah 8:8-10. The Most High is speaking here. He’s saying, “How can you say, ‘We are wise and the law of the Lord is with us’? Look, the false pen of the scribe certainly works falsehood. The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord; So, what wisdom do they have? Therefore, [this is judgment He’s pronouncing here] I will give their wives to others, and their fields to those who will inherit them; Because from the least even to the greatest Everyone is given to covetousness; From the prophet even to the priest Everyone deals falsely”. The Doctrine of Discovery or Manifest Destiny is a false doctrine and a clear example of covetousness. This is the same wickedness that the Prophet Jeremiah was speaking out against during his day. The scribes, the prophets, the priests…they were all profiting from the wicked practices going on, so they refused to speak truth to power. Just as it is today, the religious leaders who should be speaking out against the lies and deception (done in the name of religion) they’re silent because of the love of money. This is why so many remain silent as people of color suffered under this wicked Doctrine. They actually justified it by saying dumb things, like “slavery wasn’t that bad.”
It is the spirit of Rome; it is not the gospel that Messiah preached. There are some who have received the true gospel and they understood it and are living by it. Messiah talked about loving your neighbor as you love yourself – this did not happen under slavery. So, it’s important to properly identify this in and call it out. Again, correction brings the conviction necessary for change. We have to expose this Doctrine of Discovery that has allowed thievery and barbaric behavior on a massive scale. They spread this lie saying that this was used as a way to spread the gospel. This lie started with religion, and it has to be denounced by religion. The problem is most religious leaders, as I said, they’re ignorant of this Doctrine but now you know. You need to understand what is at the root of the system here in this nation. It’s time to learn this; it’s time to pull back the covers and expose it. This Doctrine is at the root of the horrendous treatment of people of color around the world. Think about that. This is the mindset that started white supremacy. It’s built on a religious doctrine from the pits of hell. 2 Corinthians 11:12-15 says, “But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose ends will be according to their works.” Again, you have to look at the fruit the fruit of this Doctrine of Discovery – which is death, exploitation, rape, slavery. This is the fruit, and this scripture is telling you that Satan has his own ministers pretending to be ministers of light. So, we have things that look religious and sound religious. But when you look at the fruit, what is that the root of it all? At the root of this Doctrine is covetousness, greed, and hate – where you could look another human being in the eye and tell them they’re animals. You’re basically telling the Most High that these people He created are really animals; He created subhumans.
Money played a major role in building this nation and money’s going to play a major role in destroying it. It will be the economy and the house of cards that will cause all of the other nations that had a hand in this to crumble as well. The wages are crying out and the cry is great. Justice cannot be withheld forever and this Roman Catholic Doctrine that led to the founding of this nation – slavery and genocide – there has to be a day of reckoning.
